Complex Exponential Mapping w = exp(z)

From Tristan Needham's Visual Complex Analysis, Section 2.4 (The Exponential Function): w = ex · (cos y + i·sin y). The complex exponential turns the vertical lines of the z-plane (blue) into circles, and horizontal lines (orange) into rays. Drag the points in either plane, animate, or pick a preset. Space toggles animation, R resets.

Real part (x) 0.00
Imaginary part (y) 0.00

Presets

z = 0.00 + 0.00i
w = 1.00 + 0.00i
|w| = 1.00
arg(w) = 0.00
Vertical → Circle
Horizontal → Ray

💡 Drag the point in the z-plane (left) or w-plane (right).

💡 Animate moves z along a vertical line, tracing a circle in w.

💡 Space toggles animation, R resets.
